eBooksSave.com is a socially-conscious service initiative to promote electronic textbooks among college students, saving money and reducing paper consumption. It was founded in September 2010 by Sameer Mathur, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Marketing at McGill University. It is presently managed by a dedicated team of students at McGill University under his supervision.
Since September 2010, eBooksSave.com has spread awareness about electonic textbooks by attracting over 14,000 online visits and generating over 35,000 page views.
Since September 2010, eBooksSave.com has also led to 41 electronic textbook sales. This does not prima-facie seem like a large number. However these 41 eTextbooks have translated into approximately $2200 of savings for students and have reduced paper consumption by 29,000 sheets of paper.
eBooksSave.com serves students by providing an online gateway to a large collection of electronic college textbooks sold by multiple publishers, all in one location. Our comprehensive database spans many university disciplines. Students can find electronic equivalents for many of their textbooks. By choosing an eBook, students can typically save over 50% on textbook costs. They can also use technological features that enhance their experience in ways that are not possible with traditional textbooks. Importantly, students can reduce paper consumption and over time, cause fewer trees to be cut. For more information about the benefits of eBooks, please click here.
